Reorganization of police ranges in view of better law and order
Formation of new police range will facilitate common people in crime control and prevention

New police ranges have been constituted in the state for the convenience of the general public, better policing and speedy disposal of criminal cases. On the instructions of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, new police ranges have been formed by reorganizing the old police ranges in view of better law and order in the state.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Mr. Ashok Juneja has reorganized the police range in Chhattisgarh Police in the state. Reorganization of the police range, where the general public will be facilitated, will also help a lot in better policing, prevention of crimes, speedy disposal of criminal cases and better law and order.
In the reorganization of ranges, Raipur range has been divided into two parts. District Raipur will remain in Raipur range. Similarly, Dhamtari, Mahasamund, Gariaband and Baloda Bazar-Bhatapara districts have been included in Raipur rural range.
Durg range will have districts Durg, Bemetara and Balod. District Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Khairagarh-Chhui Khadan-Gandai and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki have been included in the Rajnandgaon range.
Bilaspur range will have districts Bilaspur, Mungeli, Korba, Raigarh, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Gorela-Pendra-Marwahi and Jashpur. DIG Raigarh will remain under Bilaspur Range IG. District Raigarh, Sakti and Jashpur will be under DIG Raigarh.
Surguja range will have districts Surguja, Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj and MCB.
Districts Bastar, Kanker, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Bijapur, Narayanpur and Sukma will remain in the Bastar range. There will be 2 DIGs under IG Bastar. District Dantewada, Sukma and Bijapur districts will remain under DIG Dantewada. District Kanker, Narayanpur and Kondagaon will remain under DIG Kanker.
