Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company will set up two new units of 660 MW

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel laid the foundation stone of 1320 MW Super Critical Thermal Power Station Korba in Korba district to provide Chhattisgarh a new height in the energy sector. Will be new (9.78 crore per MW). Two units of 660 MW will be established here.
At present the total generation capacity of Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company is 2978.7 MW. At the time of state establishment, the production capacity was 1360 MW. Presently Chhattisgarh has become a zero power cut state. Due to the rapid economic development in the state, the demand for electricity is continuously increasing. Keeping in view the future requirement, two new units of 660 MW each are being set up at Korba. This 1320 MW super critical thermal power station will be the biggest and modern plant in the state. With this, on the one hand, the state will become self-sufficient in power generation, while on the other hand, new employment opportunities will be created.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel had decided to set up this plant on August 25, 2022. On which Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company, while working at a fast pace, obtained necessary permissions and approvals. The plant has been targeted to produce electricity from one unit of 660 MW by the year 2029 and the second unit of 660 MW by the year 2030. The new plant will be set up on 71 hectares of vacant land in the old HTPS complex. The proposed new project will require 28 MCM of water and 6.5 MTPA of coal.
