The work of providing free domestic tap connections in the rural areas of the state is being done at a fast pace. Domestic tap connections are to be given to 50 lakh 11 thousand 458 families under the campaign being run for the supply of pure drinking water in the houses under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the state. Under which at present 26 lakh 91 thousand 422 domestic tap connections have been given. Along with this, arrangements have been made to supply pure drinking water through tap taps in 43 thousand 981 schools, 41 thousand 725 Anganwadi centers and 17 thousand 290 gram panchayat buildings and community sub-health centers of the state. In which Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh is leading in providing domestic tap connections to maximum 2 lakh 39 thousand 943 rural families. Similarly, Rajnandgaon district is on second and third place respectively in providing domestic tap connections to 1 lakh 84 thousand 770 families and Raigarh district to 1 lakh 60 thousand 267 families.
It is notable that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which is being run under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and under the guidance of Public Health Engineering Minister Guru Rudrakumar, pure drinking water is being made available at the rate of 55 liters per person per day in the state, for this work is being done in all the districts by preparing an action plan. Under this mission, in addition to domestic tap connections, arrangements for running water are also being made in schools, sub-health centers and Anganwadi centers. Simultaneously, the implementation of the works of Jal Jeevan Mission including Single Village Scheme and Multi Village Scheme and other drinking water schemes in the state at the ground level, Secretary Public Health Engineering Dr. S. Constant monitoring is being done by Bharathidasan and Mission Director Mr. Alok Katiyar.
So far under Jal Jeevan Mission, 1 lakh 40 thousand 061 in Raipur district, 1 lakh 31 thousand 849 in Balodabazar-Bhatapara, 1 lakh 31 thousand 180 in Mahasamund district, 1 lakh 27 thousand 625 in Dhamtari district, Kawardha 1 lakh 19 thousand 303, 1 lakh 16 thousand 315 in Bilaspur district, Durg 1 lakh 12 thousand 956 and 1 lakh 09 thousand 334 tap connections have been given in Bemetara district. Similarly, 1 lakh 08 thousand 862 in Mungeli, 01 lakh 06 thousand 686 in Balod, 87 thousand 047 in Gariaband, 83 thousand 321 in Balrampur, 80 thousand 668 in Surguja district, 81 thousand 609 in Jashpur, 79 thousand 560 in Korba, 75 thousand 157 in Surajpur, 74 thousand 529 in Bastar, Domestic tap connections have been given to 70 thousand 693 Kanker, 70 thousand 459 in Kondagaon, 67 thousand 761 in Korea, 35 thousand 715 in Gorela-Pendra-Marwahi, 28 thousand 474 in Sukma, 25 thousand 746 in Bijapur, 24 thousand 192 in Dantewada and 17 thousand 340 in Narayanpur district.
