Meeting with the artists of Chhattisgarh

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel came face to face with the artists of Chhattisgarh today in the episode of meet-meet programme. He discussed various issues in the program by meeting Padma Shri award winners, state award winners, folk artists, film artists, technicians and producer-directors.

    Congratulating and best wishes on Hareli Tihar, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that renowned artists are present here, I welcome and congratulate all of you. If I have come, I will get a selfie clicked with all of you. Artists have an important contribution in saving and beautifying the cultural and traditional heritage of the state of Chhattisgarh.

    The Chief Minister paid tribute to late Habib Tanveer, the founder of Chandaini Gonda, the founder of Nacha. Remembering Khuman Sav, appreciated his incomparable contribution. He said that Chhattisgarh got special recognition through folk art. On this occasion, Director of Culture Department Mr. Vivek Acharya, Padmashri Shri Bharti Bandhu, Padmashri Shri Madan Chauhan, Padmashri Shri Usha Barle, Producer Director Shri Manoj Verma, Shri Satish Jain, Mrs. Rajni Rajak and artists from all over the state were present.

    The Chief Minister further said in the program that when the artists give their presentation, they underline the public sentiment of the society and give expression through the presentation. He said that many styles of folk art are prevalent, artists have invented new styles in many genres. Pandwani sung in Chhattisgarh is not sung in the whole country. Artists of Chhattisgarh have done the work of giving international recognition to genres like Bharthari, Panthi.

    The Chief Minister said that the artists have done the work of connecting Chhattisgarh’s cuisine, our dialect, music, songs and dance styles from north to south, east to west. When there was a time in which dancing was done by burning torches. Then came the era of mike set. He said that the National Ramayana Competition was organized in Raigarh. The work of developing the Ram Van Gaman circuit is being done by the government. He reiterated the point of making model Jaitkham in every development block headquarter of the state.

    The Chief Minister also narrated his experiences related to his childhood in the programme. He said that my childhood was associated with artists, most of the forms of folk art influenced my life. Earlier, when Chhattisgarh was discussed, there used to be news of Naxal incidents and martyrdom of soldiers. Now the culture and tradition of this place is discussed.

    The Chief Minister said that we made schemes keeping in mind the people of every class, artists are also getting its benefits, I am happy about it. In Chhattisgarhi Olympics, people of every class are participating enthusiastically, we have made Arpa Pari’s Dhar the national anthem. Declared Teej-Tihar holidays, now everyone is celebrating Teej-Tihar.

    The Chief Minister said that when there is money in the pocket, the joy of Teej-Tihar is different, so we have given loans to the farmers and are now also giving money for various schemes from time to time. Earlier people used to hesitate to eat stale sacks, but now after declaring Labor Day as Sacks Day on 1st May, everyone not only eats sacks but also upload photos on social media.
