On July 17, on the occasion of Hareli Tihar, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will transfer an amount of Rs. 16 crore 29 lakh directly to the bank accounts of Gauthan committees and women groups, including rural cattle rearing farmers selling cow dung in Gothans. This program of online money transfer under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana will be held at the Chief Minister’s residence office during the Hareli Tihar festival. In the first fortnight of July, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will release Rs. 3 crore 96 lakh to 59,729 farmers selling cow dung in Gauthans and Rs. 12 crore 33 lakh to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. One lakh 98 thousand quintal cow dung has been procured in Gothans in the first fortnight of July under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana.
Under this scheme, the role of self-supporting Gothans is continuously increasing in the purchase of cow dung. Out of the payment of Rs 3.96 crore to cow dung vendors, only Rs 1.61 crore will be paid by the government, while Rs 2.35 crore will be paid by self-employed Gauthans from their own funds. There are 10,263 Gothans built and operated in the state, out of which 5960 Gothans have become completely self-supporting. Self-supporting Gothans have so far collected cow dung worth Rs 67 crore from cattle rearing farmers with their own funds.
It may be noted that under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Rs 510.08 crore has been paid to the beneficiaries so far. This figure will increase to Rs 526.37 crore after payment of Rs 16.29 crore on July 17, which also includes bonus amount of Rs 18 crore released to women groups. Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, 125.54 lakh quintals of cow dung have been procured in Gauthans, out of which Rs 247.12 crore has been paid to cow dung vendors in lieu of purchase of 123.56 lakh quintals of cow dung. After the payment of Rs 2.96 crore on July 17, this amount will be Rs 251.08 crore. A payment of Rs 244.96 crore has been made to Gothan committees and women self-help groups. After the payment of Rs 12.33 crore on Hareli festival, this figure will increase to Rs 257.29 crore.
