Under Narva development, land remediation work is going on in more than 25 lakh hectare area in 6 thousand 755 drains of Vananchal.
The Chief Minister reviewed the departmental work of the Forest and Climate Change Department

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel did an in-depth review of the work of Forest and Climate Change Department at his residence office in the capital here this evening. During this, he gave special emphasis to the departmental officers to work in a coordinated manner for the protection and promotion of forests in Chhattisgarh and for the upliftment of the forest dwellers. Forest and Climate Change Minister Shri Mohammad Akbar was present on the occasion.
It was told in the meeting that in the large-scale program organized on the occasion of World Tribal Day on August 9 in the state, an amount of about Rs 466 crore will be distributed to the beneficiaries in the districts, Tendu leaf incentive remuneration and dividends of Joint Forest Management Committees. These include a dividend amount of Rs 44 crore for the period from 2018-19 to 2023-24 for Forest Management Committees. Similarly, out of the amount of Rs 422 crore under Tendupatta incentive remuneration, Rs 163 crore 59 lakh is included for the year 2021 and Rs 258 crore 17 lakh under the year 2022.
During the review in the meeting, it was informed that continuous work is being done by the Forest Department in the direction of conservation and promotion of forests in the state. At present, as per the intention of the Chief Minister, the work of tree plantation is going on at a fast pace and priority has been given to the planting of fruit trees. In the year 2023-24, a target has been set to plant more than 70 lakh saplings in 7 thousand 695 hectare area in all the schemes under departmental tree plantation. In these, the target of planting about 18 lakh saplings in an area of 3 thousand 68 hectare is included under the plantation of Campa item. It is noteworthy that during the current rainy season, 6 lakh 47 thousand fruit trees will be planted in 2 thousand 121 hectare area.
In the meeting, a review was made regarding the progress of the state government’s ambitious “Mukhyamantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana”. Under the Mukhyamantri Vriksha Sampada Yojana, in the year 2023-24, plantation will be done by 23 thousand 603 farmers in 36 thousand 140 acres of land. In these, 2 crore 25 lakh 52 thousand 941 saplings of species-wise teak, bamboo, eucalyptus, sandalwood and milia dubia will be planted. Similarly, the important program of Narva development was also reviewed in detail. Under Narva development, at present, the work of land remediation is in progress in more than 25 lakh hectare area in 6 thousand 755 drains of Vananchal in the state. For this, construction of 1 crore 80 lakh ground water conservation structures is going on.
Further in the meeting, an in-depth review was made about the works and progress of Chhattisgarh State Minor Forest Produce Association, Wildlife, Joint Forest Management Committee, Medicinal Plant Board and State Biodiversity Board. On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Advisor Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Principal Secretary Forest Department Mr. Manoj Pingua, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. V. Srinivasa Rao, Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi and Mr. Ankit Anand, Managing Director State Minor Forest Produce Association Mr. Anil Rai, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mr. Sudhir Agarwal, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Arun Pandey and Mr. Sunil Kumar Mishra , Chief Executive Officer Shri OP Yadav and Shri J.K. A. C.S. Departmental officers including Rao were present.
