Improvement in economic condition brought happiness in the family

State Government’s ambitious Gram Suraji Yojana has brought a new direction to rural life. Under this, Narva, Garuva, Ghuruva and Bari schemes are strengthening the rural economy and instilling new confidence in women. Rural women are becoming self-reliant by participating in the ongoing economic activities in the Gothans built under the Garuva scheme. The fish farming work going on in Gothans has become an important source of self-employment for the women of the group. The economic condition of these women has improved tremendously due to the continuous income from the business of fish farming, which has brought prosperity in their family.

Women of self-help groups are becoming financially prosperous by doing fish farming.Gauthans established in the villages have become an effective means of providing self-employment to the villagers through many livelihood oriented activities like livestock protection, promotion, vermicompost and manufacture of insecticides, cow dung paint etc. along with vegetable production. In this series, women of self-help groups in Khaprabhat and Nangutola Gauthans of Jewartala, Bhanpuri and Dondilohara development blocks of Gurur development block of Balod district are becoming economically prosperous by doing fish farming.

 Fish farming is being done by 13 women of Jai Maa Durga self-help group in 162 hectares (40 decimal) water area. So far, a total of 472 kg of fish has been sold by these women from Dabri of Gauthan at the rate of Rs. 150 per kg for a total of Rs. 70 thousand 800. Due to which these women have earned a net income of Rs 52 thousand 330. Similarly, the women of Maa Durga self-help group engaged in fish farming earned Rs.4025. Fish farming is being done by 12 women of Jai Sheetla self-help group in Dabri built in village Khaprabhat Gauthan of Daudilohara development block. So far, a total of 375 kg of fish has been sold by these women at the rate of Rs. 150 per kg for a total of Rs. 56 thousand 250. Due to which he has earned an income of Rs 39 thousand 900. Similarly, the women of Jai Sheetla Self Help Group have received a net income of Rs.3325.

The women of Ganga Maiya self-help group have sold a total of 55 thousand 800 rupees by doing fish farming in Dabri built in village Nangutola Gauthan of Dondilohara development block. Due to which he has earned an income of Rs 40 thousand 290. Giving information about the change in the lives of the women of the group by fish farming, Phuleshwari Bai, an active member of Jai Maa Durga self-help group village Jewartala of Gurur development block, said that the work of fish farming has become a major means of self-employment for the women of the village. With the start of fish farming business in Gothan, a beneficial source of self-employment has been found for them. This has resulted in substantial increase in the income of the group members. Now she is living a happy life with her family. He thanked Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and expressed his gratitude towards him. In this way, by making the women of Gauthan group of Balod district self-reliant, they became the means of positive change in their lives.
