Chhattisgarh: Less rain in 10 districts, more rain than average in Rajnandgaon and Mungeli

These days there is a double whammy of weather in Chhattisgarh. Somewhere due to heavy rains, the quota of monsoon has already been filled. So many districts have received less than average rainfall. There is a situation of drought in Surguja district. Rajnandgaon district of the state has recorded 28 percent excess rainfall and Mungeli 30 percent, while Surguja district of North Chhattisgarh has seen a deficiency of 61 percent.

From June 1 to July 9, 249.5 mm rainfall has been recorded in the entire state. Which is an average of -16 percent less. But the Meteorological Department has taken it as a normal situation. There are 10 districts including Durg, Dantewada, Kondagaon where less than average rainfall has drawn lines of worry on the faces of the farmers.

Bastar -33%, Bemetara -53%, Dantewada -23%, Durg District -21%, Janjgir District -40%, Jashpur -37%, Kabirdham District -38%, Kanker District -36% percent and Kondagaon district recorded -47 percent less rainfall. Apart from this, -37 percent rainfall deficiency has been observed in Narayanpur district.
