Continuous efforts are being made to promote sports and education: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel laid the foundation stone, performed Bhoomi Pujan and inaugurated various construction works including the Khelo India Multipurpose Indoor Stadium Hall located under the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium through video conferencing from the Chief Minister’s residence office. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Shri T.S. Singhdev, Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria were also involved. Municipal Corporation Ambikapur Mayor Dr. Ajay Tirkey, Chairman Mr. Ajay Agarwal, Local People’s Representative, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ms. Pratishtha Mamgai, officers-employees and players were present at the venue of the program in the district.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said in his address that with the aim of promoting sports and education, facilities are being expanded continuously in the field of sports and education. Along with this, continuous meaningful efforts are being made by the state government for the inclusive development of the region. Deputy Chief Minister Mr. TS Singhdev congratulated the people of the area for getting a well equipped and fully equipped indoor stadium. Along with this, he described it as a very beautiful gift for sports lovers. He said that sports is an important component for overall development and it would undoubtedly benefit the residents of the city.
Major works of inauguration and foundation stone-
Chief Minister Mr. Baghel inaugurated this all-convenient multipurpose indoor hall built at a cost of Rs. 4 crore 37 lakh 64 thousand here. Where there are 04 badminton courts, 03 table tennis, basketball and volleyball courts for the players. The size of the hall is 150.00×65.00 ft. In the multipurpose indoor hall, separate chasing room, washroom, clock room, sports equipment room, seating area are available in the first floor for male and female players. There are also plans for squash court, shooting range etc. for the future.
Along with this, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel inaugurated Swami Atmanand excellent schools built at a cost of 6 crore 86 lakh 11 thousand in Keshavpur, Sohga, Rajapur, Bilaspur and Nimha. On the other hand, Bhumi Pujan was done for works costing Rs 5 crore 39 lakh 47 thousand. Among the Bhumi Pujan works, Rs 3 crore 39 lakh 22 thousand for the upgradation of Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Rs 1 crore 25 thousand for expansion of basic facilities in PG College Ground and Rs 1 crore in all the wards of Municipal Corporation, Ambikapur. The cost includes electrification work.
