Increasing participation of self-supporting Gothans in cow dung purchase

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will release an amount of Rs 18 crore 47 lakh online to cattle rearing villagers, women groups and Gauthan committees in a virtual program organized for the transfer of funds for the Godhan Nyaya Yojana at his residence office Raipur on July 5, in which June 15 From 30 June till 30th June, Rs 5.05 crore was given to Gauthan committees in lieu of purchase of 2.52 lakh quintal cow dung from cattle rearers, villagers, farmers and landless people, Rs 7.79 crore to Gothan committees and Rs 5.53 crore to women groups.
Under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, the role of self-supporting Gauthans is increasing every fortnight in the purchase of cow dung. For the past several fortnights, the share of self-supporting Gauthans in the amount being paid for the purchase of cow dung has started to remain 60 to 70 percent. In today’s situation, more than 60 percent Gothans have become self-supporting, who, along with the purchase of cow dung and cow urine, are spending other expenses of the Gothans from their own funds.
It is noteworthy that under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rs 488.67 crore has been paid to the beneficiaries in the state so far. After the payment of 18.47 crores on July 5, this figure will be Rs 507.14 crores. It is noteworthy here that cow dung is being procured in the state of Chhattisgarh from July 20, 2020 at Rs.2 per kg under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana. Till June 30, 2023, 123.56 lakh quintals of cow dung has been procured in Gothans in the state. Till June 15, Rs 242.07 crore has been paid in lieu of cow dung purchased from cow dung vendors. After payment of Rs 5.05 crore to cow dung vendors on July 5, this figure will go up to Rs 247.12 crore. Rs 231.53 crore has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. This figure will increase to Rs 244.95 crore after payment of Rs 13.42 crore to Gothan committees and self-help groups on July 5.
