Major action has been taken under antipoaching in Indravati Tiger Reserve. A joint team of Indravati Tiger Reserve Bijapur, General Forest Division Bijapur and Antipoching Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve, Gariaband has caught 10 accused with tiger skins in Madded buffer range. On the instructions of the Forest Minister Mr. Mohammad Akbar, continuous action is being taken in relation to antipoaching by the Forest Department. In the same order, the forest department is also keeping an eye on such cases in the Madded buffer range. The main accused in the case has been arrested from village Kandla and is being interrogated. Soon other criminals will also be arrested.
The Forest Department was continuously investigating the information received from the informers in this regard. The department got information that some people are engaged in obtaining tiger skin for Tantra Vidya. On this an antipoaching team of 15 members was constituted. On tracking the team, they saw a white colored Maruti Wagon R going towards Rudragam village. The car was followed. The car stopped at a person’s house in Rudragam and five people got down from the car and entered the house. When the antipoaching team reached the house, they found a piece of tiger skin. Its length is 2.15 meters and width is one meter.
The accused include Aarti Das, Vikram Thakur, Pritam Lal Sahu, Tameshwar Jain, Kaka Deepak, Manoj Kursam, Kishore Dashrahiya. Also, the other two accused are absconding, whose whereabouts are being ascertained. This action was taken by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri V.K. Srinivasa Rao and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mr. Sudhir Agarwal. The joint team for action includes Mr. Ganveer Dhammasheel, Deputy Director Indravati Tiger Reserve Bijapur, Mr. Varun Jain, Deputy Director Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve Gariaband and Mr. Ashok Patel, Divisional Forest Officer, Divisional Forest Bijapur.
In this special team, Mr. Sanjay Rautia, Assistant Director, Buffer, Mr. Hitesh Kumar Thakur, Forest Range Officer, Farsegarh, Mr. Santosh Lankan, Forester, Aided Buffer and all other staff of Aided Buffer, from Indravati Tiger Reserve, and Mr. Devendra Kumar Gond, Deputy Forest Officer, Bijapur, Mr. Yogesh Ratre Forest, from General Forest Division. Circle Officer Bhairamgarh and Udanti Sitanadi Tiger Reserve include Mr. Gopal Kashyap, Chandrabali Dhruve, Rohit Nishad, Rishi Dhruv, Falesh Diwan, Direndra Dhruv, Om Prakash Rao, Churaman Lal, Tarakeshwar Dewangan, Bhupendra Bhediya, Shiva. Action is being taken under the Wildlife Act 1972 after interrogating the accused in the case.
