The National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission is being started by the Government of India to eradicate the genetic disease sickle cell in the country. To eliminate sickle cell by the year 2047, this mission will be implemented in 278 districts of 17 states of the country.
All 33 districts of Chhattisgarh have been included in this mission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission on June 27 in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh. State Health Minister TS Singhdev will join the program through video conference from Hamar Hospital located in Raja Talab, Raipur. He will also distribute sickle cell genetic status cards to the local beneficiaries at Hamar Hospital. Deputy Director of Health Department, Dr. Khemraj Sonwani informed that Government of India is starting National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission to eradicate sickle cell. It aims to address the serious health challenges posed by sickle cell disease. This mission will play an important role in the efforts of the government to eliminate sickle cell as a public health problem by the year 2047. It is being implemented in 278 districts of 17 states.
Dr. Sonwani informed that Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Bihar and Uttarakhand have been included in the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Mission. Is. Under the mission, block-wise people will be told about the causes of sickle cell and preventive measures. Along with this, necessary investigation and treatment will also be provided.
