Chhattisgarh Director General of Police reviews the law and order situation in all districts

Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police, Mr. Ashok Juneja, conducted a comprehensive review meeting via video conferencing with the Inspector General of Police from all ranges and the Superintendents of Police from all districts on Monday. The meeting focused on the priority areas outlined by the state government, with a particular emphasis on combating illicit drug abuse and the ongoing anti-drug campaign. The higher officials of the police department assessed the measures taken against drugs, including ganja, injections, tablets, and syrups, and issued instructions to ensure effective action against such substances. Additionally, they conducted a comparative review of the efforts targeting social vices such as gambling, the sale of illegal liquor and illicit weapons. The DGP has also instructed the officials to take proactive measures to curb crime related to illicit drugs and weapons in light of the forthcoming assembly elections.
DGP Mr. Juneja conducted a thorough review of the quick disposal of criminal cases involving local tribals in the Naxal-affected regions of Chhattisgarh. He directed the speedy resolution of pending cases through the honourable court. Additionally, the action taken against chit-fund companies was assessed. The court has issued final orders for the auction and attachment of properties worth Rs. 127 crore 48 lakh in these cases. The state government has received properties worth Rs. 54 crore 90 lakh through auctions and attachments. Out of the received sum, Rs. 33 crore 50 lakh have been distributed to 45,593 investors. They gave instructions to promptly auction all properties and coordinate with the competent officer and District Collector to ensure the swift distribution of funds to investors. Moreover, directions were issued to initiate the process of attachment and auction for properties of chit fund companies situated outside the state in collaboration with the competent officer and District Collector at the earliest.
