Raipur: Upgradation of Lal Talab brought prosperity in the village

    The upgradation of Lal Talab under Amrit Sarovar Yojana in Gram Panchayat Sadhwani of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district brought prosperity to the village. The villagers now started getting employment in the village itself, due to which their economic condition improved. On the demand of the villagers, the upgradation work of Lal Talab was completed by sanctioning Rs 14 lakh 82 thousand under MNREGA in the year 2022-23. This pond is built in an area of ​​about 1.60 acres. Its water filling capacity is about 31 thousand 500 cubic meters.
    Due to the upgradation of the pond, about 4 to 6 acres of land around the village is being provided with irrigation facilities and farmers are taking advantage of it. Fish farming is being done in the pond by the women of Rajiv Gandhi Self Help Group of the village. The women of the group are preparing to plant water chestnut in the pond. The group has also planted shady and fruitful plants of different species including mango, amla on the banks of the pond. Going forward, there is a possibility of getting income from fruit plants.
