The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission has announced by-elections for eight ward councillor seats on June 27. To facilitate voter identification, 18 different documents can be used for voting purposes. Voters can present any one of these documents to the presiding officer or authorised polling officer to exercise their voting rights.
The Chhattisgarh State Election Commission has announced a list of 18 documents that can be used as voter identification during the upcoming by-elections for ward councillors. These documents include the voter ID card provided by the Election Commission of India, a bank or post office photo passbook, a passport, a PAN card, an Aadhaar card, and various other IDs issued by the State or Central Government, public sector undertakings, or local bodies to their employees. Additionally, photos in pension documents, MNREGA job cards, health insurance scheme cards, driving licences, freedom fighter ID cards, 10th and 12th photo mark sheets, identity cards issued to advocates by the Bar Council, divyangjan certificates, valid ration cards, student ID cards, and arms licences can also be used for identification. The online voter ID slip generated through SEC-ER software developed by the Chhattisgarh State Election Commission will also be accepted as a valid voter ID card.
