The farmers of Telangana who came to see the development model of Chhattisgarh appreciated the farmer friendly policies and schemes implemented in Chhattisgarh. 500 farmers from different districts of Telangana shared their experiences with Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel at his residence this morning after observing the farmer friendly schemes being run by Chhattisgarh government in Rajnandgaon and Durg districts. Inaugurating the programme, the farmer representatives from Telangana welcomed and felicitated the Chief Minister by wearing the traditional gongdi dress and presenting a model of a bullock cart.

      Earlier, the farmers of Telangana visited Amlidih Gouthan of Dongargaon development block of Rajnandgaon district and Pulgaon Gouthan of Durg district and discussed with the farmers, laborers and cow herders of Chhattisgarh and got detailed information about the schemes. Praising the schemes and policies of the Chhattisgarh government, Telangana’s farmer representative Mr. Sharad Kumar said that the Chhattisgarh government is running important schemes in the interest of the general public and farmers and the general public is also getting their benefits. The government led by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has made Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of Gram Swaraj a reality. Better price of paddy, purchase of cow dung, Due to the promotion of organic farming, happiness is visible on the faces of the farmers here. Shri Sharad Kumar said that this farmer model of Bhupesh Sarkar should be implemented in the whole country as well. Praising the schemes being run by the state government, Shri Sharad Kumar said that the farmer friendly schemes are not only enriching the farmers but also ensuring better livelihood and all of us from Telangana need to understand this whole model. Farmers have come to Chhattisgarh. 

   Mr. M. Shiva Veer Reddy, a farmer from Telangana said that your government is doing a great job for the farmers of the state. With the cow dung purchase scheme, your identity has been made in the whole country as the Chief Minister who buys cow dung. Mr. Swami said that I do cow rearing myself, if schemes like yours were implemented in our state too, I would not have reared one hundred thousand cows. Mr. Swami said that the schemes being run in Chhattisgarh for the benefit of Gauthan, Gopalan and farmers should be publicized in the entire country through the media so that farmers of other states can also get information about it.

     Addressing the program, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that our government is the government of the farmers and we are determined for the happiness and prosperity of the farmers. He said that in the previous government only 12 lakh farmers used to sell paddy in primary cooperative societies, but today more than 23 lakh farmers are selling paddy in societies and money is reaching their accounts immediately. The Chief Minister said that more than 26 lakh farmers have been benefited from the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana so far, MSP is the highest price of paddy in the country to the farmers of Chhattisgarh. And input subsidy is being received. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that this year 107 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured from 23.5 lakh farmers. Till now we were buying 15 quintals of paddy per acre from the farmers, Now paddy will be purchased at the support price of 20 quintals per acre. Our government is procuring 67 types of minor forest produce and their value addition is also being sold through C Mart. The farmers of this place are becoming millionaires by selling cow dung under the cow dung purchase scheme. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that not only paint is being manufactured from cow dung, but we are also encouraging electricity production from cow dung. 

    The Chief Minister said that we have written a letter to the Prime Minister regarding permission to make ethanol from paddy. Responding to the question of ongoing schemes for tribals in the state, the Chief Minister said that our government is fully sensitive towards the interests of tribals and forest dwellers. The government is working to bring prosperity in the lives of tribals by purchasing minor forest produce at support price, providing forest produce based livelihood activity and forest rights lease. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that individual forest rights have been given to 5 lakh farmers through the Van Adhikar Patta Yojana, similarly community forest rights have been given to tribals and eligible beneficiaries on more than 18 lakh hectares of land. It also includes forest resource rights. Chief Minister waived the loans of farmers in Chhattisgarh, He also gave detailed information about the smooth system of paddy purchase on support price, half electricity bill scheme, exemption of electricity to farmers on irrigation pumps up to 5 horse power, and the scheme to give agriculture status to fish farming and lac farming. The state government is making arrangements for the purchase, processing and sale of the products of farmers, cowherds and forest dwellers. Their products are being sold on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart including C-Mart.  

   On this occasion, Mr. Girish Dewangan, Chairman, Mineral Development Corporation, Mr. Vinod Verma, Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr. Nawaz Khan, President, District Central Cooperative Bank Rajnandgaon, Mr. Rajendra Sahoo, President, District Central Cooperative Bank Durg, Telangana Farmers Delegation leader Tenmar Malanna were also present on the occasion.
