Raipur: Villagers still feel proud by remembering Rajiv Gandhi’s Dugali visit: Chief Minister discusses with the villagers of Dugali at the inauguration of Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana

Raipur, 21 May 2020. On the occasion of the death anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana was launched in the state today. The Chief Minister of the state Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today took feedback from the people of different districts through video conferencing. In this sequence, he interacted with the villagers of Dhamtari district. Specifically, referring to Rajiv Gram Dugali and Gaurav Gram Kandel, asked about the work done by the current government. Shri Lata Netam of Jai Maa Lakshmi Women Self Help Group of Village Kauhabahara (Dugali) of Nagari Development Block, Jai Maa Sheetla Women Self Help Group, Mrs. Neera Markam of Munaikera along with Mr. Madhav Singh, Youth of Eco-Turism Village Jabra and Mr. Narayan Singh of Gaurav Village Kandel In brief with the Chief Minister, he briefed about the achievements, activities and development of the district.
This afternoon, through video conferencing, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was told by Mrs. Lata Markam that the historic arrival of former Prime Minister of India, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, in his village Dugali on July 14, 1985, where he visited a special backward tribe Kamar colony. Taste of page and Karu Kanda was also tasted. The villagers still feel proud remembering that memorable moment. He further informed that the much awaited demands of the villagers were fulfilled by giving several gifts by the state government to Dugali on the date of birth date of Rajiv ji on 20 August 2019. After the arrival of the current government, development has now been reflected in Rajiv Gram Dugali. Representing the MNREGA scheme as the best scheme of the country, Mrs. Netam described it as the most powerful medium of rural livelihood. Similarly, Madhav Singh Netam, a young man from village Jabra, said- “After you declared the village Jabra as an eco-tourism zone”, the villagers have got a solid source of livelihood. For the first time community forest rights of 5352 hectares of forest have been granted, where various natural resources were developed by the district administration.
Madhav Singh Netam told the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that more than one thousand tourists from his country and abroad have stayed here at his village Jabra, which included foreign tourists like Poland, New Zealand and Australia. Mr. Netam also informed that by preparing a tourism committee of 20 people of the village, various information is given to the tourists. Through the said committee, the net income so far was more than Rs 1.5 lakh. The Chief Minister expressed great pleasure on this.
In the same way, Mrs. Neera Markam, resident of Munaikera, a dependent village of Gram Panchayat Devgaon, told the Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that 2524 women have become self-reliant from the Small Forest Produce Processing Center in Dugali. Here Amla, Tikhur powder, honey processing, Triphala powder, Dona-Pattal etc. are being manufactured by the women of the group. He said that till this year, a total of 18 lakh goods have been prepared and income of Rs 10 lakh has been received by the group’s sisters. In the same sequence, Shri Narayan Singh of Gaurav Gram Kandel of Dhamtari Development Block told that the historic Canal Satyagraha of 1920 had started from his village, whose father Mahatma came here on 21 December 1920 to culminate as a movement. He further said that to make the said historical day unforgettable, Gandhi thought march from 04 October 2019 gave the message of truth, non-violence and cleanliness. Shri Singh thanked the Chief Minister and said that after his arrival, the village was rejuvenated. Successful implementation of various schemes of state government including Narva, Garuva, Ghurwa, Bari can be seen coming true. All praised the Government’s farmer welfare policy, praising the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya Yojana.
