Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that Lord Shri Ram spent 10 years of his exile in Chhattisgarh. Lord Shri Ram faced so much hardship during the exile but did not lose his dignity. When Lord Ram went to the forest, he became Maryada Purushottam. Chhattisgarh also has a part in his character building.
The Chief Minister was inaugurating the three-day ‘National Ramayana Festival’ at a grand function organized at the historic Ramlila Maidan in the city of arts and literature, Raigarh today. On this occasion, he said that our Chhattisgarh is the state of Mata Kaushalya and Shabri Mata. It is the land of tribals and forest dwellers who have been living here for centuries. Lord Ram was to be crowned but he went to exile, met Nishadraj, met Shabri, met sages and sages. We have a relation with Vanvasi Ram as well as Kaushalya’s Ram, so he is our nephew, we touch the feet of Chhattisgarh resident nephew.
The Chief Minister said that for the first time in the country, the Ramayana Festival is being organized officially at the national level in Chhattisgarh. This beautiful event is being organized to listen to the ideal character of Shri Ram ji, although it is a national event, but foreign teams like Cambodia, Indonesia are also participating in it, making this festival international. The Chief Minister said that today I saw a beautiful march past during the National Ramayana festival, in which I also saw the Ram march past of Ramnami community. He has dedicated his whole life to Shri Ram. They believe in the formless, Just as Kabir believes in the formless. In this way everyone has their own Ram. The Chief Minister said that Ram Katha is enshrined in our hearts. Our morning starts with Ram-Ram and evening also ends with Ram-Ram. Beautiful troupes of Ramlila are made in every village of ours. Common people feel deep affinity with Shri Ram because Shri Ram belongs to everyone, he belongs to Nishadraj, he belongs to Shabri. Have the most affection.
The Chief Minister said that for cultural exchange, we have written letters to the Chief Ministers of all the states where there are places of pilgrimage and we want 2 acres of land in these so that we can make good arrangements for our pilgrims to stay here. Along with this, we are also developing our pilgrimage sites so that the pilgrims who come here can also get good facilities. The Chief Minister said that Lord Shri Ram spent most of his exile with the forest dwellers. We find the account of deep intimacy with him in Ramayana.
The Chief Minister said that for the promotion of tribal culture, we have been organizing the National Tribal Festival for three years. Protecting Devgudi of tribals, protecting their Ghotul. Addressing the residents of Raigarh, the Chief Minister said that Raigarh has been one of the earliest witnesses of human culture, the rock paintings here show that examples of the earliest cultural development of mankind are also found here. While presiding over the programme, Culture Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat said that Sita Ram’s character is very pure, sweet and very pleasant. It is definitely a matter of pride for all of us that we are getting to hear the ideal character of Shri Ram here. School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam said that this unique event is being organized on the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel. By listening to Ram Katha, we all will take inspiration to move forward on the ideals of Shri Ram. Higher Education Minister Mr. Umesh Patel said that through the Ram Van Gaman Path, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has done a great job of developing places associated with Lord Shri Ram. Giving the example of Bhavabhuti, former Member of Parliament Shri Nand Kumar Sai said that according to the character of Lord Shri Ram described by Bhavabhuti, the work of serving the poor is being done in Chhattisgarh. Mahant Shri Ramsunder Das, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Gau Sewa Aayog, said that very good work is being done to increase the places associated with Shri Ram in Chhattisgarh and for Gau Seva in Gauthan. Collective Hanuman Chalisa was organized – Collective Hanuman Chalisa was organized on this occasion. Singer of devotional songs Mr. Dilip Shadangi gave this presentation. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and thousands of spectators were engrossed in worshiping Hanuman ji with him. In the beginning of the program, the contingents from different states and countries did a march past. Teams from Indonesia and Cambodia enthralled the audience in their traditional attires. Members of the Ramnami sect also did a march past. The specialty of the Uttarakhand team was that it was led by Ravana. States like Goa, Karnataka, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh etc. also gave their presentation. It is noteworthy that 270 artists from 12 states are participating in this event. In this, 70 artists from Chhattisgarh state and 27 artists from abroad are participating.
