Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel today unveiled the statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari in the collector’s office premises of Jagdalpur and paid floral tributes to him. The first district office of the division where the statue of Chhattisgarh Mahatari has been installed.

After unveiling the statue, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel said that Chhattisgarh Mahtari is a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s identity, self-respect and respect. He said that the statue of Chhattisgarh Mahatari is being installed in all the districts so that people can be awakened about their culture. It is our endeavor that the future generations get ample opportunities to know and understand our Teej festivals and folk traditions. The Chief Minister further said that the Government of Chhattisgarh is working determinedly to promote its culture. Traditional Tihars of Chhattisgarh are being organized. Meaningful initiatives have been taken to celebrate festivals of folk life like Teeja-Pora, Akti, Hareli Chherchera on a large scale. Today the whole country has come to know about sacks. Through initiatives like Tribal Dance Festival, Rejuvenation of Devgudi, Adivasi Parab Samman Nidhi, work has been done to give respect to tribal culture.
    On this occasion Industries Minister Mr. Kawasi Lakhma, Bastar MP Mr. Deepak Baij, President of BAI Mr. Lakheshwar Baghel, Vice President of BAI Mr. Vikram Mandavi, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Rekhchand Jain, MLA Narayanpur Mr. Chandan Kashyap, Former MP Mr. Nand Kumar Sai, Mayor Smt. Safira Sahu, Chairperson of Municipal Corporation Mrs. Kavita Sahu, Vice-Chairman of Indravati Basin Development Authority Mr. Rajeev Sharma, Chairman of Renewable Energy Authority Mr. Mithilesh Swarnakar, Commissioner Mr. Shyam Dhavde, IG Mr. Sundarraj P., Collector Mr. Vijay Dayaram K. Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Jitendra Meena along with other public representatives and officers were present.
