Governor inaugurates news bulletin in Gondi dialect from All India Radio

Governor Mr. Vishwabhushan Harichandan virtually launched the weekly news bulletin in Gondi, the main dialect of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh, from Raj Bhavan today. Speaking on the occasion, he said that radio remains the most effective medium in the state of Chhattisgarh which has geographical diversities.
At the inauguration ceremony, the Governor said that All India Radio is broadcasting news bulletins in Hindi and Chhattisgarhi languages across the state. After ‘Halbi’ dialect, the telecast of weekly news bulletin in ‘Gondi’ dialect is being started from today. Now not only will you get to hear the news of the country and the world in Gondi dialect, but you will also get information about the schemes and steps being taken by the government in the interest of the general public.
Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, Chief Executive Officer, Prasar Bharati addressed the program through video conferencing. He highlighted the action plan by All India Radio and Doordarshan to broadcast programs and news in the languages and dialects of different communities of the country and to expand the network. Director General of All India Radio, Dr. Vasudha Gupta informed about the activities of All India Radio.
This weekly news bulletin in Gondi dialect will be broadcast from Akashvani Kendra at Jagdalpur every Sunday from 6.30 pm on medium wave at 756 KHz frequency. This bulletin can be heard in all the 7 districts of Bastar division.
On this occasion, Mr. Amrit Khalkhon, Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Deepak Agarwal, Deputy Secretary, and officers of various units of Prasar Bharati were present.
