National Ramayana Festival will be held in Raigarh from June 1 to 3

The people of Chhattisgarh will get to see the saga of Ramayana equipped with hi-tech techniques including 3D animation at the National Ramayana Festival to be held in Raigarh. The Department of Culture is preparing vigorously for this event. On the special initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Ramayana Festival is being organized at the national level just like the Tribal Dance Festival. In this event, by writing letters to the Chief Ministers of different states of the country, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has urged them to send Manas Mandali teams. The National Ramayana Festival will be organized from June 01 to 03 at Ram Leela Maidan in Raigarh. Foreign Manas Mandali artists including Ramayana Mandali from different states of the country will also participate in the festival.

Tulsidas ji’s Ramcharit Manas is widespread in Chhattisgarh. On the other hand, in the Tamil Ramayana of Kamban in the far south of the country and in the Bangla Ramayana of Kritivas in the eastern part of the country, Valmiki and Bhavabhuti have shown different forms of Lord Rama in their texts. Along with this, Ramkatha is also prevalent in South-East Asian countries in its many forms. A glimpse of these beautiful forms of the character of Shri Ram will be seen in the Ramayana Festival. Apart from this, the story of Ramayana has been written in many languages ​​and it is staged in many countries. The stage of their beautiful presentation will be the Ram-Leela Maidan of Raigarh.  

There has been a continuous tradition of Ramlila in our country. Ramayana is our cultural heritage, the essence of diversity of life is contained in Ramkatha. Ramayana is staged in different forms according to the environment and culture in different states of the country and abroad. In fact, the story of Ramayana is the essence of unity in diversity. Ramayana works to connect us and our culture. These variations from different states and abroad will be seen in hi-tech form and when Ram Katha will be presented through the festival, a large number of people will be able to learn about his ideals through Ram Katha.

Officials of the Culture Department said that in order to take the ideals of Lord Ram to the masses in Chhattisgarh, a state-level Ramayana Festival is being organized in the state from the month of May. The first phase of this event to be organized in four phases has been completed at the district level. In the second phase, competitions of Manas troupes are being organized at the district level till May 20 and in the third phase from May 27 to 29 at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur. National Ramayana Festival will be organized in the fourth phase.
