Chief Electoral Officer, Chhattisgarh Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale reached Ambikapur, the headquarter of Surguja district, today on her two-day stay in view of preparations for the upcoming assembly elections. On Sunday, the first day of the two-day stay, the polling stations and EVM warehouse were inspected by the Chief Electoral Officer. He honored the women by participating in the felicitation ceremony of the newly married brides. On the second day of her stay, Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Kangale will conduct a detailed review of the preparations for the election in a meeting to be held at the collectorate hall of Ambikapur on Monday, May 15. During the inspection of polling stations, Collector and District Election Officer Surguja Mr. Kundan Kumar, Municipal Commissioner Pratishtha Mamgai, CEO District Panchayat Mr. Nutan Kumar Kanwar, Additional Collector Mr. AL Dhruv,

Chief Electoral Officer Chhattisgarh Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale today inspected polling station number 71, 72 Government Girls School Ambikapur. Here he gave directions to the officers to ensure all necessary arrangements in the polling stations. He took information from the concerned BLO about the number of voters, the names of new voters to be added to the voter list under the special revision qualification. He talked about taking special vigilance in relation to the updation in the list of new voters and their deletion in relation to photo duplication. He said that the work of reducing the sex ratio gap in the voter list and enrolling women who have completed 18 years of age in the voter list should be done on priority.

After this, the Chief Electoral Officer inspected the strong room in the Polytechnic College and the counting room according to all the assembly constituencies. He instructed to repair the infrastructure for systematic facility for counting of votes. He inspected the EVM warehouse and FLC hall in the Joint Composite Building located in the Collectorate premises. In the EVM warehouse, he instructed to install CCTV at the outside entry. Similarly, he also inspected polling station number 123, 124 PG Girls College, polling station Darima. He also instructed to organize district level training of all BLOs regarding the use of BLO app.

Made aware to vote by participating in the felicitation ceremony of newly married brides

Chief Electoral Officer Chhattisgarh Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale also participated in the felicitation program of newly married brides organized under the campaign for voter awareness. He honored the newlyweds by applying roli, sandalwood and presenting them with shawls. On this occasion, he said that when women enter the house as newlyweds, they play an important role in building a family. Similarly, their participation in the building of the country should also be ensured. For this, he motivated women to exercise their franchise during the elections. Collector Mr. Kundan Kumar also administered the oath of awareness and commitment towards voting on this occasion. 22 newly married brides were honored in this programme.
