In Chhattisgarhi Olympics, the winning players of village Banka
received the honor money in two days.

Information was received in Beltara’s meet-meet program that the winners of the Chhattisgarhia Olympics did not receive the honor money.

The Chief Minister had given instructions to the collector to distribute the amount after investigation.


Total prize money of Rs 30 thousand 250 distributed to 34 winning players of Banka village

The directions given by the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel during the meeting are being promptly implemented by the district administration. In a meeting held at Beltara in Bilaspur district on May 12, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was informed that some of the winners of the Chhattisgarh Olympics in Banka village have not yet received the honor money. Taking it seriously, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel had given instructions to Collector Bilaspur Mr. Saurabh Kumar to get it investigated and immediately distribute the honor amount to the respective winning players as per eligibility. Acting quickly, the district administration Bilaspur today distributed the prize money to the winning players of village Banka of Bilha block. An amount of Rs 30,250 was distributed as per rules to 34 players of village Banka, who won various sports events organized at the block level during the Chhattisgarh Olympics.
In fact, during the meeting, Kho-Kho player Pratibha Markam of village Banka interacted with Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel in the meeting-meet program organized on May 12 at Beltara. He congratulated the Chief Minister for the Olympic event of Chhattisgarhi Games and urged to organize this event every year. He also informed that some participants of the village, including him, could not get the prize money. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel had directed Collector Bilaspur to immediately investigate this and distribute the prize money to the winning players. Acting on which the Collector got the matter investigated immediately. After the matter was found correct in the investigation, the officials of the Janpad Panchayat reached village Banka and distributed the prize money to all the winning players including Pratibha Markam.
Banka village emerged as the hub of Chhattisgarh sports  
It is noteworthy that village Banka of Bilaspur district has emerged as the hub of Chhattisgarh Games in the Chhattisgarh Olympics. Sportsmen from this village excelled in sports like khokho, gilli-danda, cart race, tug of war and long jump. In these games, a provision has been made to give prize money of Rs 1000 to the player coming first at the block level, Rs 750 to the second place and Rs 500 to the players coming third. On getting the first, second and third place in the said games by such 34 players of village Banka, they were awarded a total honorarium of Rs 30,250 as per their eligibility by the officials of District Panchayat Bilha after reaching the village.
The villagers thanked the Chief Minister for the quick solution
All the sportspersons and villagers including Pratibha Markam are happy that they got a chance to meet Chief Minister Mr. Baghel directly through the meet-meet program and their problem was resolved quickly, they do not tire of thanking the Chief Minister for this. Here, Collector Saurabh Kumar, taking the matter seriously, has issued instructions to distribute the amount to the remaining players of Chhattisgarh Olympics in a week and submit the report to the district administration. The prize money is to be distributed through district panchayats and urban bodies. The Collector said that if any player does not have a bank account, he should be given cash. In any case, payment should be made within a week.
