Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel performed Bhumi Pujan for the construction of government new college building in Beltara assembly of Bilaspur district today. On this occasion, Revenue Minister and in-charge of the district Mr. Jaisingh Agarwal, Parliamentary Secretary Mrs. Rashmi Ashish Singh, President of Apex Bank Mr. Baijnath Chandrakar, President of District Panchayat Mr. Arun Chauhan, Chairman of Tourism Board Mr. Atal Srivastava, Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Pradeep Sharma, Additional Director of Higher Education Department Mr. Praveen Pandey along with other public representatives and officers were present.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel congratulated the residents of the area for the new college and said that all schemes like Narwa, Garuva, Ghurwa, Bari, Godhan Nyaya Yojana, Ripa have been implemented very well in Akaltari village. Due to which the common people are getting benefitted. Women are becoming self-reliant. Similarly, a new college is being started in Akaltari for the development of higher education. With the commencement of the college, the nearby children will get higher education in the village itself. They will not have to go out. He said that education plays an important role in human life, which leads to human progress.

It may be noted that 10 acres of land has been allotted in village Akaltari for the construction of government college building. For the construction of the college, a total administrative approval of Rs 71 lakh has been granted under the initial phase from the DMF head.
With the opening of the college in Akaltari, more than 500 students from 25 nearby villages will be benefitted. They will not have to go to cities like Sipat, Ratanpur, Bilaspur for higher education. A new college is being started in Akaltari by the state government to facilitate the students of the area for higher education. The college will start from the academic session 2023-24. Staff is also being appointed by the Higher Education Department to start the session in the college. Which includes 12 posts including 6 Professors, 1 Principal, 3 Lab Technician, Clerk Peon. From this session, 3 faculties like Arts, Science, Commerce will be started in the college.
