Ambikapur city as five stars and 9 urban bodies of the state including Bhilai Nagar, Patan received three star rating

Raipur, 19 May 2020. In the results of ODF Plus Plus released by the Government of India, the success of all the civic bodies in the state of Chhattisgarh has achieved tremendous success. The state of Chhattisgarh is the first and only state in the country to have the distinction of being ODF plus plus. Ambikapur city has once again brought laurels to the entire country in the matter of cleanliness under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel.
Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahria told here today that Ambikapur city of Chhattisgarh has got the first place in this list with a 5 star rating in the National Sanitation Survey Report. Along with this, 14 other urban bodies of the state have also received 3 star and 1 star rating. Dr. Dahria said that the results of the Garbage Star Rating Protocol of Star Cities were released today by the Central Government through an online press conference from the Nation Media Center. In which the city of Ambikapur of Chhattisgarh ranks first. Earlier, Ambikapur was also ranked second in the country in the previous ratings.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Urban Administration Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Dahriya congratulate Secretary Ms. Alarmelmangai D. and the Mayor, President, Councilors, officers-employees of all the civic bodies, cleanliness didi-workers on the star rating and success of ODIF Plus Plus Giving wishes and good wishes, he has given instructions to continue these efforts. Chief Minister Mr. Baghel has said that the name of Ambikapur city is not only on the table of the country in terms of cleanliness, the administration, corporation administration, corporation public representative and the residents of the city are also very aware of the cleanliness of the city. He said that Ambikapur and other bodies have done better in the declared rankings due to the day-to-day hard work of the cleanliness Didis and the cleanliness staff of the Corporation.
It is known that all the bodies of the state have been successful in the results of ODF Plus Plus and Chhattisgarh is the only state in the country to achieve this feat. The results of the Swachh Survekshan 2020 have been announced today by the Central Ministry officials.
It is noteworthy that garbage collection is done by the women self-help group of Ambikapur. Along with this, large-scale cuttings are released from the city on a daily basis. Dr. Dahriya said that the garbage collection system adopted by the urban body of Ambikapur city has changed considerably throughout the country including the country and now this system has been implemented in the rest of Chhattisgarh corporations on the lines of Ambikapur Municipal Corporation. In addition to this, solid waste management in Ambikapur city has been developed in addition to waste water recycling system. Drainage water is being purified and made back for use on a large scale here. This achievement of Ambikapur has made the entire Chhattisgarh state proud.
Dr. Dahria informed that in this list of Central Urban Ministries, in addition to 5 star rating, rankings of 3 and 1 star have also been released. In this ranking announced by Union Minister for Housing, Environment and Urban Affairs, Shri Hardeep Puri, 9 urban areas of Chhattisgarh have been given a 3 star rating and 5 bodies in garbage free urban areas have got a 1 star rating. Cities receiving 3 star rating include Bhilai Nagar in Durg district and Barsur of Dantewada including Patan, Bilaspur, Jashpur Nagar, Narharpur of Kanker, Raigad, Rajnandgaon, Sargwan of Mungeli. Similarly, cities receiving 1 star rating include Baramkela in Raigad district, Berla of Bemetra, Chikhalakasa of Balod, Katghora in Korba and Pakhanjur in Kanker.
Dr. Dahria said that in the clean survey of ODF Plus Plus issued by the central government, surveys of ODF are conducted through an independent agency appointed by the central government. The state’s urban bodies have been successful in the ODF and ODF Plus trials three to four times. The ODF Plus Plus test vis-a-vis ODF observes the availability of open defecation public cum community toilet facilities as well as safe scientific disposal of faecal sludge from septic tanks. He said that to improve the condition of ODF, the cleanliness makeup and facility-24 scheme run by the state government has contributed significantly in this success.
