Chief Secretary Mr. Amitabh Jain conducted an in-depth review of the work of the Women and Child Development, Commerce and Industry and Higher Education Departments in order to review the priority schemes and programs of the state government at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhavan here today. The Chief Secretary asked the officers of the Women and Child Development Department to work under a comprehensive strategy to provide nutrition to the malnourished children in the age group of 0 to 5 years found in the survey under the Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana. He asked the officials to take all necessary measures so that not even a single child remains malnourished. Malnourished children should be given hot food. More malnourished children should be given special treatment by keeping them in NRC centres.
The Chief Secretary, while reviewing the Department of Commerce and Industry and Public Enterprises, regarding the rural and cottage industry policy, marketing system, establishment of ethanol plant, women groups, women entrepreneurs and women businessmen and women startups to start a new scheme to set up business industry. Took detailed information from the officials. In the meeting, detailed information was taken from the officials of Higher Education Department regarding starting of Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College in major cities of the state. Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Subrata Sahu was present in the meeting.
Officials of the Department of Commerce and Industry gave detailed information regarding the Chhattisgarh Women Entrepreneurship Policy 2023 through a presentation. Officials told that economic progress and economic empowerment of women have to be done. For this, the participation of women in entrepreneurship is being ensured. The economic and social status of the women of the state has to be strengthened. Women labor force has to be trained and assured of employment. Similarly, activities related to agriculture related ancillary industries, business, cottage industries and service sectors have to be promoted. Officials told that special financial facilities will be provided to women under the Chhattisgarh Women Entrepreneurship Policy 2023. Interest subsidy to women entrepreneurs, fixed capital investment grant, electricity duty for small and medium industries, stamp duty, mandi fee, Change of land use will be exempted from the fee. Quality certification, technical patent, technology purchase grant and disabled employment will be provided for women entrepreneurs. Similarly, facilities for providing environmental project management grants will be given to women entrepreneurs. Women will be given relaxation in land premium on allotment of land in industry areas, industrial parks and other concessions. Similarly women entrepreneurs will be given exemption in EPF, ESI contribution.
During the review of the Higher Education Department, the officials said that for starting the Swami Atmanand Government English Medium Model College, in the six districts of the state, Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon, Jagdalpur, Kanker and Surguja, respectively, setup has been approved in the pre-run colleges and self- English medium colleges are being operated as a pilot project from the academic session 2022-23 after converting the building into an English medium model college. Similarly, budget provision has been made for starting government English medium colleges in Bilaspur, Mahasamund, Raigarh, Korba at the rate of 34 posts per college.
