Raipur. 24 April 2023
Seema, who has been suffering from the problem of contracture of right elbow since birth, will now be able to straighten her arm completely like normal children. Doctors at DKS Superspeciality Hospital in Raipur have performed elbow soft tissue release surgery in his arm. This free surgery from Chirayu scheme under the National Child Health Program has filled Seema’s life with happiness and enthusiasm. Due to the initiative of Chirayu Dal of Sarangarh and the hard work of the doctors of DKS Hospital, he has got rid of the problem of bent elbow.
When the Chirayu team of Sarangarh Community Health Center of the newly formed Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district reached Jhilgitar primary school for health check-up, the team came across the problem of ten-year limit studying there. Her right elbow was bent at a 90-degree angle since birth, which she could not straighten. In medical language, it is called contracture of right elbow or distal orthograposis of right elbow. Chirayu Dal guided Seema’s family members by boosting their morale and referred them to DKS Superspeciality Hospital, Raipur for treatment.
Seema underwent surgery/casting for the first time after being admitted to DKS Hospital on 16 February this year under the guidance of Pediatric Orthopedician Dr. Raman Srivastava. After a few days the softness was seen by opening the casting. Casting was done by calling six times before the operation. Two months later, on April 11 and April 15, elbow soft tissue release surgery was completed in the Pediatric Orthopedic Department of DKS Hospital.
Generally, a huge amount is spent on such operations in private hospitals. Seema’s hand operation has been done completely free of cost through Chirayu Yojana under the National Child Health Program. After this operation, now she will be able to straighten her arm completely like normal children. The family members of Seema have expressed their gratitude by thanking the state government, health department and Chirayu team for the operation from Chirayu scheme.
