Announcement to create a separate Directorate of Agricultural Engineering

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel participated in the Akti Tihar and Mati Pujan Day program organized at the Indira Gandhi Agricultural University campus today. On this auspicious occasion, the Chief Minister worshiped village soil, deities and Thakur Dev and sowed seeds of bottle gourd, beans and ridge gourd as part of the seed sowing ceremony. Praying to Mother Earth for a good harvest, the Chief Minister worshiped by bringing paddy seeds from Kothi and also fed fodder to mother cow. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel wished Mother Earth to be full of wealth and grains for the people of the state. On the occasion of Akti Tihar, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel plowed the field by driving a tractor.
Inaugurated the camp office of Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel while addressing the farmers said that as we worry about our health, we should also worry about Mother Earth. We should reduce the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture and move towards organic farming. Whatever facilities we are taking, we are getting from nature. Akti and Mati Pujan festival is a festival to express our gratitude towards the earth. We should think about what we are giving back to the earth in return for what we are taking from nature. On the occasion of Akti festival, we pray to Mother Earth and take her permission to start farming, then we use spade. We apologize for the damage caused to Mother Earth. On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced the creation of a separate Directorate of Agricultural Engineering.
Extending best wishes for Akti Tihar and Lord Parshuram Jayanti, the Chief Minister said that Lord Parshuram had created Akshaya Patra. It is believed that Lord Parshuram also did many researches in the field of agriculture. His ax is useful in war as well as in agriculture. He said that Chhattisgarh is an agricultural state where 70 to 80 percent people depend on agriculture for their livelihood. Due to the economy of the state being based on agriculture, the state government has worked to enrich the farmers by operating many new schemes. Due to this, agricultural production has increased tremendously in these four years. The Chief Minister said that farmers would be able to sell paddy at 20 quintals per acre in the state. This will greatly benefit the farmers. Due to the farmer-friendly policies of the government, paddy production in the state has reached 107 lakh metric tonnes. The support price of Kodo and Kutki has been fixed by the Government of Chhattisgarh and arrangements have also been made for its purchase. Kodo, Kutki, Ragi are produced in large quantities in Chhattisgarh, especially in tribal areas. Chhattisgarh will become a big hub in the field of horticulture and forestry, people from India and abroad will come here for studies. The Chief Minister administered the oath to protect Mother Earth and use organic food, save clean water, pure air for the coming generations.
Launched Indira Seed Brand
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel launched the Indira Beej brand developed by Indira Gandhi Agricultural University. He said that I have full faith that the Indira seed brand developed by the university will be beneficial for the farmers. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also released a coffee table book based on agricultural research. The Chief Minister said that when we started cow dung procurement, people made fun of it, but today 3.5 lakh people are selling cow dung and Rs 230 crore has reached their accounts. The government has taken effective steps to promote millets. Millets Cafe is being operated in Indira Gandhi Agricultural University and soon according to the agreement between Indira Gandhi Agricultural University and AIIMS, Millets Cafe will be opened in AIIMS as well, so that patients there can be given nutritious food made from millets. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey said that on this day we worship the earth. Today is the auspicious time to sow seeds in the fields. We have been doing this in the village for years. Today, on the day of Akti, we organized a special event on this occasion. The Agriculture Minister said that the tradition of Chhattisgarh has been revived which was our original tradition. Due to the farmer-friendly policies of our government, the number of farmers increased, production also increased, as a result of which we procured 170 metric tonnes of paddy, which is an unprecedented record in the country. Along with this, Vice Chancellor Mr. Girish Chandel, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet Singh also addressed the program.
Along with this, Agricultural University digital portal was launched and agriculture based literature was released. Seeds and planting material were distributed to the farmers. The Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister were presented jackets made of linseed made by women’s groups of Bemetara district.
