Annual magazine “Sukuwa” released during second anniversary of Institute of Hotel Management

A total of 138 students are studying in degree and diploma courses in the institute.
A total of 138 students are studying in degree and diploma courses at Nava Raipur-based Institute of Hotel Management, operated under the Department of Tourism, Government of Chhattisgarh. To make the institute more effective, B.Sc. HHA (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) course has been started, whose degree will be obtained from the prestigious University of Delhi, JNU. The special thing is that there is no compulsion of age limit for admission in any degree and diploma course in IHM.

A total of 138 students are studying in degree and diploma courses in the institute.

Tourism Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu laid the foundation stone of a 50-seater hostel building for the convenience of the students to stay in the institute as the chief guest during the second annual function of the institute. During this MLA Mr. Dhanendra Sahu, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mr. Atal Srivastava, Vice President of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Mrs. Chitrarekha Sahu, Secretary of Tourism Department Mr. Ambalgan P., and Principal Mrs. Rekha Shukla were present. During the anniversary itself, the annual magazine “Sukwa” of the institute was also released by Chief Guest Tourism Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu.

In his address, Tourism Minister Mr. Tamradhwaj Sahu wished the students studying at Institute of Hotel Management Raipur for a bright future and said that this institute will achieve a new milestone in the field of hotel hospitality. Expressing happiness over the placement of the students studying in the institute in the big hotels of the country, Mr. Sahu said that according to the intention of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the work to improve the institute is going on and in the coming time it will become the best hotel management of the country. An institute will be formed.  

It is noteworthy that in the academic session 2022-23, the first batch of 06 students of three-year B.Sc degree program is about to pass out. Out of these four students have been selected in various prestigious hotels. In the academic session 2021-22, 63 students studying in diploma courses have been placed in various prestigious hotels.

With the aim of making the Institute of Hotel Management Raipur the leading institute of the country, in the last 03 years modern infrastructure has been established by expanding the infrastructure here. Chhattisgarh State Skill Development Council is running 18 skill development programs under hospitality and tourism, in which preparations are on to start the training of 08 programs in the institute.

During the second anniversary of the institute, a group of students gave a mesmerizing presentation on the topics like Drama on Hotel Management Awareness, Chhattisgarhi Sua Dance, Confluence of Cultures, My India. On this occasion, the chief guest also awarded the students in the field of sports, debate, essay writing etc.
