Urban Administration and Development Minister Dr. Shivkumar Dahria took a meeting of departmental officers and reviewed the work on Thursday. During the review meeting, Minister Dr. Dahria instructed the officers to cancel Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) with immediate effect on the basis of gross negligence and complaints by vendor EESL in street light maintenance in urban bodies of the state. He also directed to issue a show-cause notice to the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Chirmiri and suspend the Chief Municipal Officer of Bade Bacheli for negligence in the implementation of government schemes.
Minister Dr. Dahria said that the summer season has started. It is our responsibility to provide basic facilities to the citizens. All necessary arrangements should be strengthened to provide pure drinking water to the people, the use of tankers should be reduced and water should be supplied through tankers only when required.
Minister Dr. Dahria also reviewed the implementation of the state government’s ambitious scheme Shri Dhanwantri Medical Store. The minister said that on the initiative of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, public welfare Dhanwantri Medical Store has been started with the objective of providing medicines at cheap rates to the people of the state. It is also the responsibility of all of us to work towards reaching more and more people by promoting Dhanwantri Medical Store. He also inquired about the works of the Medical Mobile Unit. He praised the work being done by the body in this area.
In the meeting, Minister Dr. Dahria instructed to take immediate action by implementing the announcements made by the Chief Minister in various meetings, meetings and programs on priority. He gave instructions to compulsorily send the proposal for the development works announced by the Chief Minister for the financial year 2022-23 by May 10.
Minister Dr. Dahria also inquired about the progress of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in urban areas of the state. He instructed to complete the incomplete construction works soon. He said that by appointing nodal officers in the civic bodies, special initiative should also be taken in the direction of making loans available to the beneficiaries by coordinating with the bank for the construction of PM housing. Minister Dr. Dahria instructed to take necessary action for regularization of houses and buildings which are irregular in civic areas. He said that regularization of houses and buildings should be done while providing exemption for schemes run by the government.
Minister Dr. Dahria reviewed the work being done under the AMRUT mission scheme in urban areas. He said that it is our responsibility to make pure drinking water available to the citizens. Instructions were given to the officers to complete the work of Amrit Mission Scheme at the earliest. He said that funds have been allocated to complete road maintenance works in urban areas. The road maintenance work should be rectified before the monsoon.
While reviewing, Minister Dr. Dahria gave instructions to dig the pond in the summer season itself under the Sarovar-Dharohar scheme. He also asked to complete the cleaning of the drains before the monsoon so that the situation of choke does not arise and the drain water does not spread on the roads. Reviewing the 15th Finance Commission, he directed to send proposals soon under the scheme. Minister Dr. Dahria said that such civic areas, which have got construction done on government land by taking more advance possession, they should also get the allotment process done soon. He instructed the officers and employees of the civic bodies to compulsorily pay salaries by the 7th of the month.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ayyaz Tamboli, Special Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Department, Director Urban Administration, Remigius Ekka, State Urban Development Agency CEO Mr. Saumil Ranjan Choubey, Commissioners of all Municipal Corporations and Chief Municipal Officers of the Municipal Council.
