Raipur: Chief Minister saw the process of making paint from cow dung

Chief Minister reached Hirapur Jarwai Gauthan, discussed with women

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inspected Hirapur Jarwai Urban Gauthan during the meet-meet program today. He also observed the unit for making paint from cow dung there and discussed with the women involved in vermicompost and paint manufacturing.
The women of the Govardhan Women’s Self-Help Group told Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that 34.01 lakh kg of cow dung has been procured so far. Out of this, 3 lakh 10 thousand kg vermicompost has been prepared. 6 lakh 30 thousand kg super compost has been prepared. The women have received a dividend of Rs 18.90 lakh so far.

During the observation, the Chief Minister understood the process closely from the members of the women’s group engaged in manufacturing paint from cow dung by machine in Gauthan premises. The women of the group told that the paint made from cow dung is better in quality than other paints made in the market, as well as it is 25 to 30 percent cheaper than the paint available in the market.

The women of the group told that till now 17 thousand 200 liters of paint has been produced from cow dung. Out of this, 15 thousand 700 liters have been sold. An amount of Rs 23 lakh 70 thousand has been received so far from the sale of paint, with which the group has got a profit of Rs 7 lakh 500. During this, the Chief Minister also inquired about the work of the women groups engaged in the construction of Dona-Pattal located in Gauthan campus.

On this occasion, Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Vikas Upadhyay, Mayor of Raipur Municipal Corporation Mr. Ejaz Dhebar along with local public representatives and women of self-help groups associated with Gauthan were present.
