Due to the efficient management of the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, there has been 100 percent offtake of paddy procured from farmers of the state on support price for custom milling. The work of custom milling by millers and depositing rice in the central pool is also going on at a fast pace. So far 47.10 lakh metric tonnes of rice has been deposited in the Central Pool (FCI and Non). This includes 28.41 lakh metric tonnes of rice in Food Corporation of India and 18.69 lakh metric tonnes of rice in Civil Supplies Corporation. It may be noted that the state government has successfully procured a record 107.53 lakh metric tonnes of paddy on support price from the registered farmers of the state in this Kharif season. 22 thousand 67 crore rupees have been paid to the farmers for the purchase of paddy.
