The state government has given administrative approval of Rs 20 crore 10 lakh 55 thousand for canal lining, dam repair and canal construction work in three irrigation projects of Mungeli, Janjgir-Champa and Rajnandgaon districts.
Out of the sanctioned works of the irrigation project, the remaining CC lining work, revival of old concrete work and construction of new concrete work between zero to 17 kilometer end of Khapri distributary canal of D-2 of Maniyari Reservoir Scheme of Mungeli district by the state government. For this, administrative approval of Rs 15 crore 33 lakh 81 thousand has been given. The designed irrigation capacity of this scheme is 3669 hectares in Kharif, out of which irrigation is not being done in 1059 hectares at present. On completion of the work approved by the State Government, irrigation facility will be available in 3826.12 hectare Kharif area in excess of the irrigation capacity designed under this scheme. Chief Engineer of Water Resources Department, Bilaspur, Hasdev Kachar has been instructed to complete the construction work within the time-limit with high quality.
Similarly, administrative approval of Rs 3 crore 15 lakh 46 thousand has been granted by the state government for the construction work of the right canal of the city from Pota to Bade Sipat under the Hasdev Bango project of Janjgir-Champa district. With the completion of this work, the shortfall in irrigation in 370 hectare area will be fulfilled by the scheme and irrigation will be done in 440 hectare as per the full designed capacity. Chief Engineer of Minimata (Hasdev) Bango Project of Bilaspur of Water Resources Department has been instructed to complete the work with high quality and economy within the time limit.
Administrative approval of Rs 01 crore 61 lakh 28 thousand has been given by the state government for the repair and town lining work of Banbhedi reservoir dam of Dongargaon development block of Rajnandgaon district. With the completion of this work, 3.72 hectares of additional area will be irrigated with the saved water, along with meeting the current shortfall of 77.26 hectares in the designed irrigation capacity of 135 hectares. With the completion of this work, irrigation facility will be available in a total of 138.72 hectares through the scheme. Chief Engineer of Mahanadi-Godavari Cachar of Water Resources Department, Raipur has been instructed to complete the work with high quality and economy within the time limit.
