Raipur: Krishna Kunj: Trees of cultural importance have started taking shape

So far, more than 55 thousand saplings have been planted in 224 acres of 169 urban bodies.

Krishna Kunj

The Government of Chhattisgarh is developing Krishna Kunj in the urban bodies of the state. In just one year, these Krishna Kunjs have started taking shape in the form of lush green trees. Under the scheme, so far 55 thousand 781 saplings have been planted in 169 urban bodies in the state in about 224 acres of land.
It is noteworthy that on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel started the ambitious scheme of Krishna Kunj in the entire state by himself planting trees in Krishna Kunj located in Telibandha, capital Raipur. On the same day, tree plantation was done with public participation in the Krishna Kunj built in the urban bodies of the state.


    It may be noted that according to the intention of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, the work of planting trees of cultural and religious importance is being done to connect people with tree plantation in Krishna Kunj. Where the plantation of trees like sandalwood, rudraksh, banyan, peepal, kadamba is included which maintains environmental balance and gives plenty of oxygen. Fruit trees like mango, tamarind, ber, ganga tamarind, jamun, mulberry, tendu, chironji, pomegranate, kaitha, neem, palash, bael, amla are also being planted in Krishna Kunj.
