Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel participated in the unveiling of the statue of Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar and inauguration of the administrative building of Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu University organized at Anjora in Durg district today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister praised the technical efforts made by the university to provide cheap fodder for the animals. The University has developed a Para based complete diet palette. This will be nutritious and cheap fodder for animals, through this the cost of fodder will be reduced by 35 percent.
In his address on the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that there is lack of cheap and nutritious fodder in Chhattisgarh and the hot climate here, due to which high breed cattle are unable to adapt here. For this reason, we have started the work of breed promotion. Along with this, Godhan Nyaya Yojana has also been started for the development of livestock, so that animal husbandry can again prove to be a profitable deal. For cheap fodder, the university is experimenting with pellets. We are promoting rural entrepreneurs through RIPA. Such units will be made in every Ripa, which will also have a unit for making animal feed.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh currently has immense possibilities regarding livestock. By promoting dairy enterprise at the local level, the demand and supply situation in our country will improve rapidly. The Chief Minister said that this is why our focus remained on cow dung procurement so that organic farming could be done, cow dung paint could be made and economic prosperity could come through livestock.
The Chief Minister also recalled the contribution of late Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar on the occasion. He said that his work in the field of animal husbandry was a milestone. He adopted dairy as a means of livelihood. Reared high breed cattle. During undivided Madhya Pradesh, he along with the then Chief Minister Mr. Motilal Vora organized a big agricultural fair at Anjora and from here people got information about new scientific possibilities in agriculture and animal husbandry. The Chief Minister said that although the cows of our Kosli breed give less milk, but their immunity is very good. By increasing their breed continuously, remarkable work will be done in the livestock sector in the state.
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor of the University Mr. NP Dakshinkar gave detailed information to the Chief Minister about the innovations being done by the University. He informed that apart from making animal feed pellets, the University has also started a Business Incubation Center. Through this, fodder will be available to the livestock farmers at a cheap price.
