Raipur, 24 March 2023

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has announced to increase the purchase of paddy from 15 quintals to 20 quintals per acre on the support price. With this, farmers will now be able to sell 5 quintals more paddy per acre. This announcement has sent a wave of happiness among the farmers of Surguja district including the farmers of the state.
Welcoming this announcement, Mr. Sukhnandan Singh, a farmer of Rikhi village of Udaipur development block of Surguja district, said that this is a meaningful step to increase the income of the farmers. Decisions are being taken continuously by this government in the interest of the farmers. This government also does what it says, this government is trustworthy. He told that he has six and a half acres of land in which he used to sell about 90 quintals of paddy, now he will be able to sell 120 quintals of paddy. Mr. Phaguva Das, a farmer of Pandri Dand village, says that after the announcement of the Chief Minister, now he will be able to sell paddy at 20 quintals per acre. Very happy with this decision. Such governments came again and again. Due to increase in paddy purchase limit, farmers will not be forced to sell paddy to middlemen at throwaway prices. The income of the farmers will increase due to which they will become financially prosperous.
