The farmers of Dantewada said that now instead of 15 quintals per acre, they will be able to sell 20 quintals of paddy.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel’s decision to increase the limit of purchase of paddy at the support price is another major step in the direction of making farmers rich with paddy. Significantly, the Chief Minister has now announced to buy 20 quintals of paddy instead of 15 quintals per acre on the support price. This announcement sent a wave of happiness among the farmers of Dantewada district.
Expressing happiness, Mr. Mahesh Sethia, a resident of Jhodiabadam in Dantewada district, said that Chhattisgarh is called the rice bowl, by taking such decisions in the interest of the farmers, the government has increased the respect of the farmers. Earlier, I could sell only 45 quintals of paddy in my 3 acre farm, the remaining paddy was sold to other traders at cheap prices. Now I will be able to sell 60 quintals of paddy through committees. This decision of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel will prove to be a milestone for the farmers.
Ajman, a resident of village Bhairamband, told that I have about 30 to 35 acres of land, earlier I was getting 15 quintals per acre. Now with the decision taken by the government, we will be able to sell 20 quintals, which has given us a lot of convenience. He told that he is also taking advantage of other schemes made by the government like Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. This is an important step, a meaningful initiative in the direction of making rich from paddy.
