Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has said that those who mess up the rice of the poor will not be spared. Strict action will be taken against those involved in rigging the ration.
On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the officials of the Food Department have been directed to submit the detailed investigation report of the fair price shops, prima facie found to be lacking in the savings stock of ration.
Officials of the Food Department said that in September 2022, the real reasons for the shortfall in the stock in the fair price shops where the savings stock has been found should be examined. If irregularities are found, strict action should be taken against the concerned and its report should be sent to the Food Department.
Officials of the Food Department also informed that FIRs have been registered in 13 cases in connection with the verification of the savings stock of ration material in fair price shops in September 2022. Allotment of 161 fair price shops has been suspended and allotment of 140 shops has been cancelled.
