Till last month, 107.75 lakh quintal cow dung was purchased in Gauthans.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel made an online payment of Rs. 7 crore 4 lakh to cattle rearing villagers, women’s groups and Gauthan committees under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, in a program organized in his office room located in the Vidhansabha here today, in which from February 16 to 28 Till February, Gauthans have received Rs 4 crore 25 lakh in lieu of purchase of 2.13 lakh quintal cow dung from cattle herders, villagers, farmers and landless, Rs 1.65 crore to Gauthan committees and Rs 1.14 crore to women groups. 
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that 5th to 15th of every month is special for the farmers. Because on this day they are given the amount of Godhan Nyaya Yojana. It is a matter of happiness that a large number of Gothans are becoming self-reliant. In order to encourage self-supporting Gothans, it has been decided to provide honorarium to the chairman and member of the steering committee of Gothans. He also urged other Gothans to be self-reliant. Mr. Baghel said that it is a matter of happiness that apart from making other products from cow dung, the work of generating electricity has started. The power generation plant from cow dung at Domarpal in Bastar has been synchronized with the grid. The rate of electricity generated from this has been fixed at Rs 9 per unit.

It is worth mentioning here that under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, the self-supporting Gauthans are not only participating in cow dung procurement, but are also maintaining a steady lead. For the past several fortnights, the share of self-supporting Gauthans in the amount being paid for the purchase of cow dung has started to remain 60 to 70 percent. In today’s situation, more than 50 percent Gothans have become self-supporting, who along with purchasing cow dung and cow urine from their own funds, are completing other activities of Gothans with their own funds. From February 16 to February 28, a total of 2.13 lakh quintal cow dung has been purchased in Gothans, in lieu of which out of Rs 4.25 crore to be transferred to cow dung sellers, Rs 1.92 crore has been paid by the Agriculture Department 
and Rs 2.33 crore has been paid to self-supporting Gothans. Will be done by So far Rs 45.52 crore has been paid by the self-supporting Gauthans from their own funds in lieu of cow dung purchase.
It is noteworthy that under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, Rs 419 crore 25 lakh has been paid so far to the beneficiaries in the state including the amount paid today. In the state of Chhattisgarh, from July 20, 2020, under the Godhan Nyaya Yojana, cow dung is being procured at Rs 2 per kg. In the state till February 28, 2023, 107.75 lakh quintal cow dung has been procured from Gothans. Rs 215 crore 50 lakh has been paid in lieu of cow dung purchased from cow dung vendors. So far Rs 185 crore 77 lakh has been paid to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups. 
Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey addressed on this occasion. Food Minister Mr. Amarjit Bhagat, Advisor to Chief Minister Mr. Rajesh Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Subrat Sahu, Agriculture Production Commissioner Dr. Kamalpreet, Special Secretary of Agriculture Department Mr. Ayaz Tamboli, Director of Agriculture Department Mrs. Ranu Sahu, Director of Horticulture Department Mrs. Chandan Tripathi were present.
