Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended the ‘Sant Kavi Pawan Diwan’ tribute meeting and felicitation ceremony organized by the Vipra Cultural Building Management Committee at Vipra Bhawan located in Samta Colony of the capital Raipur this evening. Paying tribute in the program, he made an important announcement to confer the State Ornament Award in the field of poetry writing in the name of saint poet Shri Pawan Dewan in his honour. This award will be given every year from the upcoming state decoration ceremony.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel also honored poets and litterateurs of Chhattisgarh for their special contribution in the field of literature and poetry writing. Among these, Padma Shri Dr. Surendra Dubey was awarded Viprakul Gaurav Shikhar Samman-2023. Similarly, Mr. Arun Kumar Nigam and Mr. Kashipuri Kundan were awarded with Sant Kavi Pawan Dewan Smriti Asmita Samman. Each was honored with an amount of Rs 21-21 thousand as a prize and was presented with a shawl and shreefal. He also released Vipra Yoga magazine and monthly bulletin of Vipra College on the occasion.

 Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that saint poet Pawan Dewan had a deep attachment to the soil of Chhattisgarh. In his writings, a very beautiful and easy depiction of the contemporary condition of the society is found, which was related to the feelings of the people of every class and every society. This is the reason why Mr. Dewan, rich in versatility, was very popular among the masses. He said that remembering the saint poet Shri Diwan is like remembering the dream of Chhattisgarh seen by our forefathers. The soil of Chhattisgarh has been mentioned time and again in his poetry. That poet heart was very emotional, very good storyteller and completely selfless and innocent minded person. He very easily threaded the current conditions of the society into his creations.

Chief Minister Mr. Baghel further said that all the schemes of the present government in Chhattisgarh are fulfilling the dreams seen by our forefathers for Chhattisgarh. Today, in the field of development, Chhattisgarh’s sting is ringing in the country and the world. The schemes implemented here are being appreciated in other states as well as at the national level. He informed that there has been a lot of improvement in the condition of all sections of people including the poor, laborers and businessmen and farmers in Chhattisgarh. The number of farmers selling paddy here and the production of paddy have increased many folds as compared to previous years. 

The program was also addressed by Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey and Advisor to the Chief Minister Shri Pradeep Sharma. Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi did the vote of thanks in the programme. On this occasion, Mayor of Raipur Municipal Corporation Mr. Ejaz Dhebar, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Mr. Gyanesh Sharma, Mr. Surendra Sharma, Mr. Narendra Tiwari, Ms. Vibha Tiwari and other dignitaries were present.
