A workshop on ‘Foldscope Educational and Research Tool’ was organized at Chhattisgarh Regional Science Center on the theme ‘Global Science for Global Good’. In this three-day workshops organized on Science Day, students and teachers were given information about the use and maintenance of cheap and practical equipment from the application of science and technology.

Hands-on training in the use of the Foldscope in the workshop
In the workshop, the use of Foldscope was explained in a very interesting way through hands-on training. Different types of sample plant cells, slides of animal cells, water samples obtained from different sources, products obtained from many chemical reactions, bacteria, fungi, protozoa, many unicellular and bicellular micro-organisms were taught to see through foldscope, which That was very exciting. At present, microscopes are confined to the laboratory only due to their high cost, fragility and high maintenance. In such a situation, information about Origami Microscope – Foldscope was given to change the way we see life and micro-organisms around us. The Foldscope is an ultra affordable paper microscope inspired by the origami process.
