Excellent performance of Agricultural University Raipur: won two gold, one silver and one bronze medals

In the 21st All India Inter-Agricultural University Sports Competition organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research at Hisar (Haryana), the players of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University performed excellently, earning two gold, one silver and one bronze medals under various events. secured the sixth position in Representing Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in this competition, M.Sc. of Agriculture College, Raipur. Mr. Vijay Kumar, a student of Agronomy, won the long jump event and M.Sc. Mr. Sameer Camaro, a student of the Department of Agricultural Meteorology, won the gold medal in the javelin throw event. Similarly, in the women’s long jump event, Ms. Nilavati Nag, a student of Agriculture College, Bemetara, won a silver medal and in the 1500 meter race, Mr. Rajesh Kumar Sori, a student of Agriculture College, Rajnandgaon, won a bronze medal.
He was welcomed by the university sports team on their return. The winning participants met Vice Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel under the leadership of Dean Student Welfare Dr. Sanjay Sharma and gave information about the awards received by them. Vice Chancellor Dr. Girish Chandel honored the medal winning players. Congratulating and best wishes to the medal winning players as well as all the players in the team, he hoped to perform even better in the future. He assured all possible cooperation from the administration for the development of sports and sportspersons in the university.
It is notable that the 21st All India Inter-Agriculture University Sports Competition was organized by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in Hisar (Haryana) from 20 to 24 February this year. In which 66 Agricultural University teams from across the country participated. Sports Officer of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Dr. R.K. Thakur and Dr. Participated in the competition under the leadership of Subuhi Nishad. In the felicitation ceremony organized at the University Administrative Building, the Registrar of the University Mr. G.K. Nirmam, Director Research Services Dr. Vivek Kumar Tripathi, Director Field and Seed Dr. S.S. Tuteja, Dean Agriculture College Raipur Dr. G.K. Das, Liaison Officer Dr. L.S. Verma, Technical Officer Dr. B.P. Katlam, various hostel superintendents and many officers and employees of the university administration were present.
