Received 20 thousand rupees from Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana

Every mother’s dream is to make their child’s future better and secure. Working class mothers weave dreams of their child’s golden future amidst thousands of deprivations. Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana of the state government is playing an important role in realizing these dreams. The one-time amount of Rs 20 thousand received under the scheme is helping a lot in improving the future of the children of labor families. Daily wage laborer Mrs. Lachwantin Sahu’s worry about the future of her six-month-old son Moksh has also gone away, as she has received Rs. are given. This amount will be used to support son Moksh’s education and work when he grows up.
Mrs. Lachwantin Sahu, a resident of Danitola ward of Dhamtari district, is a daily wage laborer registered under Chhattisgarh Organized Workers Welfare Board, who works as a Reza in house construction work. Her husband Subhash Sahu is also a laborer by profession. Last year on August 28, 2022, Sahu couple were blessed with a son named Moksha. As soon as he was born, his mother started worrying about his future. Meanwhile, he came to know that under the Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, financial assistance is provided to the laborers registered in the Labor Department. The Sahu couple applied for this and an amount of Rs 20,000 was deposited in their account. This amount is huge for a working family. Emotionally, Lachwantin said- she will keep the 20 thousand rupees received under the scheme deposited in the bank account till then. Until son Moksha grows up. She told that this amount is a big amount for her which she will use to secure her son’s future. Expressing her gratitude to the state government, Mrs. Sahu said that this scheme of governance has proved a boon for poor and daily wage laborers like us. The state government is thinking for us workers, this is a big thing. We have got a lot of relief from this scheme.
The labor officer said that the state government provides an amount of Rs 20,000 each to women construction workers registered under the Labor Department (Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board) on the birth of the first two children. To take advantage of the scheme, the laborer’s registration should be 90 days before the birth of the child. It is necessary for the registered worker to submit mother-child card, birth certificate, Aadhaar card, self-declaration certificate and employer certificate along with the application. So far 4 thousand 191 eligible and registered women workers have been benefited under the scheme. Camps are organized in various gram panchayats to provide benefits of the scheme to maximum number of labor families.
