In the state, more than 2.11 lakh children became free from malnutrition and more than one lakh women from anemia

 Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Chhattisgarh has done remarkable work in various fields including health and nutrition within the last four years. Recently, the state government has approved the inclusion of millet dishes in the mid-day meal for school children. The Mukhyamantri Suposhan Abhiyan is getting good success to remove malnutrition in children and to free adolescent girls and women from anemia. After this campaign, there has been a decline of 48 percent in malnutrition among children.
The Government of Chhattisgarh is continuously paying attention in the field of health and nutrition. Government’s innovative schemes Mukhyamantri Haat Bazar Clinic, Dai-Didi Clinic, Mukhyamantri Slum Health Scheme, Humar Lab, Malaria-free Bastar and Malaria-free Chhattisgarh scheme are being implemented. Due to this, people are getting better health facilities in rural and urban areas. People in Chhattisgarh are being given treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh under the Dr. Khubchand Baghel Health Scheme. On the other hand, treatment facility up to Rs 20 lakh is being provided under the Chief Minister’s Special Health Scheme.
According to the statistics of the Vajan festival at the time of starting the Mukhyamantri Suposhan Yojana, about 4 lakh 33 thousand children were malnourished in the state. So far, more than 2 lakh 65 thousand children have become malnutrition free in the state. Thus, there has been a reduction of 48 percent in the number of malnourished children. Malnutrition rate has decreased by 5.61 percent in the state during the last four years. According to the National Family Health Survey-5, the percentage of malnutrition in the state is 31.3, which is less than the national average of 32.1 percent. So far one and a half lakh women have become free from anaemia. Under this scheme iron, folic acid, deworming tablets are being given to the anemic affected.
The performance of Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh has been better in the Champion of Change Delta ranking released for December 2022 in the Aspirational Districts report by NITI Aayog. Among the aspirational districts of Chhattisgarh, Narayanpur district ranks fourth among the top five districts in the overall performance category out of 112 aspirational districts of the country. On the other hand, Narayanpur district ranks third in the health and nutrition category.
