Raipur: International Mother Language Day: Online course will be started on podcast and understanding of multilingual education

On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, February 21, podcasts based on popular stories in languages ​​and dialects spoken by children in different areas of the state are being prepared and started using them in classes. Along with this, an online course prepared by Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) on the understanding of multilingual education is also being started for district and block level education officers. After doing this course, the officers will be able to play an important role in providing proper opportunities to the children to learn in their own language by being sensitive towards multilingual teaching.

It is notable that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has announced to provide education to school children in their local language in the state. This work is being continuously reviewed by School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam. On the basis of which various works have been started on mother tongue teaching, the children of tribal areas in the state are getting its benefit. Chhattisgarh is the first state where the work of linguistic survey has also been completed in collaboration with Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) and UNICEF.

The discussion paper is currently published in the form of a podcast every month by a team of teachers in the state. Teachers listen to it with great interest and try to implement the things said in it in their respective classes. In this series, along with some expert teachers, some local language knowledgeable teachers and some external organizations who want to cooperate in this work, compilation of various local stories, making podcasts on them, later sharing the print version of some selected stories. Tasks like doing will be done together with this team. A team of interested people will be formed for this work through social media.

This podcast can be used by teachers in schools by using their mobiles, speakers available in primary schools etc. By listening to this podcast, children will be able to feel proud knowing their culture, history and traditions. It is also proposed to be uploaded on “Vidanjali” portal for technical support in podcast production, demand and support on the basis of requirement of equipment for use in their classes.

School Education Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam has appealed to local language knowledgeable teachers, active elders of the community, technically competent teachers to cooperate in preparing podcasts and all officers to take this online course seriously.
