The turnover of the Swachh Manendragarh area level association engaged in vermicompost manufacturing at the urban Gauthan of district headquarter Manendragarh under the new district of the state, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, has reached Rs 1 crore. With the launch of the scheme in the year 2020, the work of cow dung procurement started in Gauthan. Today, 100312 quintal vermicompost has been sold by this union, whose amount is Rs 1 crore 32 thousand. In this, the net profit of the group is Rs 36.73 lakh.

Savita Das, a member of Swachh Manendragarh area level association of development block Manendragarh, which produces the most vermicompost in the entire district, says that when the Godhan Nyay Yojana started, joining as a group in Gauthan of the city Started the work of making vermicompost. As we got profit from production and sale, people’s attitude towards us started changing. Through this scheme, we have got the means of self-employment and I have bought a two wheeler with the profit I got from the sale of vermicompost. Savita smiles and says that I come to Gouthan in my car.

The Vice President of the group Premlata also thanks the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel for this important scheme. Group President Mrs. Preeti Toppo says that she had taken some loan for her sister’s wedding from the dividend she got, she got rid of this money, bought cycles for the children to go to school and also bought a TV set for the house. Earlier, the people of the house were a little angry because of not being able to give time at home, but now they are happy to see the income. Member Augustina Ekka says that after the death of her husband, the family faced financial problems, but now she is working in Gauthan to support the family. She has a desire to have a two wheeler and hopes to get her own vehicle soon.

There are 73 women in this group. That is, 73 women are directly associated with self-employment. In Gothan, some women associated with the work of vermicompost fertilizer production are from poor families, while some have never worked outside the house. Earning from this work has made him a strong pillar of his family. He has also been shown the path of self-confidence and self-reliance.
