Raipur: 12 units for making natural paint from cow dung started in Gothans

As per the intention of the Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel, Gothan established for conservation and promotion of livestock in the state is fast developing into a rural industrial park. Along with conducting various income generating activities in Gothans, production of natural paint from cow dung has also started as an innovation. At present, 13 units have been set up in Gauthans to make natural paint from cow dung, out of which 12 units have been started. 

Two units have been established in Raipur district, one unit each in Kanker, Durg, Balod, Korba, Bemetara, Surajpur, Bastar, Korea, Kondagaon, Dantewada and Bijapur to make natural paint from cow dung in Gauthans. Except for the unit set up in Korea district, production has started in the rest of the units. So far 7255 liters of natural paint has been produced by the two units established in Gauthans of Raipur district. Kanker district ranks second in the production of natural paint, 6059 liters of natural paint has been produced here, while 100 liters each in Balod and Korba districts, 300 in Bemetara, 500 in Surajpur, 120 liters in Bastar district, Kondagaon in 400, 1102 liters of natural paint has been produced in Dantewada and 200 liters in Bijapur. Thus far 17 thousand 936 liters of natural paint has been produced in the state. An income of Rs 22 lakh 51 thousand 110 has been earned from the sale of 9 thousand 622 liters of natural paint. Establishment of units for making natural paint from cow dung is in the final stage in 29 identified Gauthans of 28 districts of the state. Soon they will start producing natural paint.
