The Central Parliamentary Committee is coming to Raipur on a one-day visit on January 16 to study the social and educational status of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Chhattisgarh. The 31-member parliamentary party headed by Dr. (Prof.) Kirti Premjibhai Solanki will hold a meeting with the Chief Secretary and senior officers of Chhattisgarh. Apart from this, the parliamentary party will hold meetings with various institutions to discuss the representation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and other welfare measures taken for them.
The parliamentary party will have a discussion with the management of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur on January 16 from 9.30 am. After this there will be a discussion with the Director General Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from 10 am.
The parliamentary party will discuss the socio-economic condition of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and the welfare measures taken by the Social Welfare and Tribal Department from 10.45 am with the Chief Secretary and officials of the State Government. The parliamentary party will have a meeting with the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Employees Association of Coal India Limited and South Eastern Coalfields Limited at 12.15 pm and will hold discussions with the management from 12.30 pm.
After meeting with the local administration, social welfare, tribal department from 2.30 pm, the parliamentary party will visit scheduled caste and tribe village near Raipur to see their social, economic and educational conditions and other welfare schemes.
