Governor Sushri Anusuiya Uike has extended best wishes to the people of the state for the folk festival Chher-Chhera. The Governor has said in his message that Chher-Chhera festival is celebrated after the new crop comes home from the barn. On the day of Chher-Chhera, the echoes of “Chheri ke Chhera…, Chherchhera, Mai Kothi ke Dhan l Herhera…” are heard at every door and the people of the state celebrate this festival with enthusiasm. It also reflects the great rural and agricultural culture-tradition of Chhattisgarh. This festival also revives the tradition of charity of the state. On this auspicious day, Governor Sushri Uike wished Chhattisgarh state to always be full of wealth and prosperity of the citizens.
