A three-day Astro Shala began today at Swami Atmanand English Medium School, Bhilai Sector 6, in which the students of Sages observed the Moon and Jupiter through a reflective telescope with 110 times zooming capacity. In star gazing, the students of Sages became eyewitnesses of celestial events ranging from Milky Way. For the children of Sages, the experience was like a dream come true.
Atmanand English Medium School located in Sector 6 in Durg district has become the first school, where children will be able to get acquainted with the other world beyond this world through astronomy lab. This started today with the star gazing event. In which students tried to understand astronomical science with tubular reflecting telescopes ranging from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 1 lakh. The children found the Moon and the planet Jupiter right in front of their eyes today with this telescope.
On this occasion, the Coordinator of Chhattisgarh Amateur Astronomy Club Mr. Rajesh Lohia provided information about astronomical components and their events occurring in space to the school students. He explained to the children that in the universe, the planet Earth is in both the orbits of both of us, so there is a constant change in the position of both of them. The earth is also rotating in its own place and is also revolving around the Sun. He also informed the present children about how the ancient people used the sun in the morning and the pole star at night as a direction indicator.
Astro Tutor of Children became Sky View Android Application. Students were also informed about the Android application called Sky View. Through this application, children can get information about any celestial body by pointing their mobile towards the sky. . The coordinator told that this application in a way works like an astro tutor for the children.
Collector Mr. Pushpendra Kumar Meena had given instructions to innovate so that students understand the world of astronomical science better and adopt it as their career in future. Under which a unique initiative was taken by Mr. Rohit Vyas, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Bhilai regarding Astronomy Event and Astronomy Lab. The Mayor of Municipal Corporation Bhilai, Mr. Neeraj Pal has also supported this initiative.
On this occasion Trainee IAS Assistant Collector Mr. Laxman Tiwari, District Education Officer Mr. Abhay Jaiswal, Principal of SEJS Mrs. Daljit Korada, Astro Life Developer Ms. Anushtha Das Vaishnav, Astrolife Designer Mr. Atul Jindal and other teachers of SEJS were present.
